VSCodium is a community-maintained, open-source build of the Visual Studio Code source code, packaged without Microsoft branding, telemetry, or proprietary licensing. It delivers the same fast, cross-platform coding experience—intelligent editing, integrated debugging, terminal, and Git tools—while prioritizing privacy and software freedom. By default, VSCodium uses the Open VSX Registry for extensions, and it runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Built from the MIT-licensed upstream code, it provides a familiar, customizable editor without the vendor-specific components included in Microsoft’s official VS Code distribution.
VSCodium is developed by Microsoft. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8 and 1.9. The name of the program executable file is VSCodium.exe.
